Mike Henry...

Actor, writer, director, producer and comedian. Mike is best known for writing, producing and voicing for the animated TV series Family Guy (1999–present). He created and voices many of the show's characters including, Cleveland Brown, Herbert, Bruce and Consuela. He is also known for co-creating and starring in the spin-off, The Cleveland Show (2009–2013) and for his recurring role as Dann, the friendly alien, in the TV series, The Orville.

Mike Henry was born in Pontiac, Michigan and raised in Richmond, Virginia, primarily by his mother, along with his brother Patrick. After attending the preparatory Collegiate School, Mike graduated as class president from Washington and Lee University earning his B.A. in 1988. Two years later, dissatisfied with a conventional advertising career, he made the life-changing decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy.

After three years of acting, writing, stand-up comedy and improvisation in LA, Mike returned to Virginia to shoot short comedy films that he wrote and starred in. During that time, Mike often acted in his brother Patrick Henry's student films at the Rhode Island School of Design. It was there that he was introduced to his brother’s college roommate, Seth MacFarlane. The two quickly became friends. "We immediately hit it off and cracked each other up and kept in touch," Henry says.

Mike later moved to New York City where he acted in commercials, studied improvisation at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and wrote, produced, starred-in and co-directed (with his brother Patrick) comedy shorts for Lorne Michaels’ Burly Bear Network.

Three years later, Seth hired Mike to write jokes and voice characters for his new show, Family Guy. Mike was instrumental in solidifying the framework of the series, writing countless punch lines and “cutaway” gags and creating and voicing some of the show’s most memorable characters, including Cleveland, Herbert, Consuela, Bruce the performance artist and the Greased-Up Deaf Guy. Mike became a series regular cast member at the beginning of season five.

After writing and producing the first six seasons of Family Guy, Mike co-created the show’s spin-off, The Cleveland Show, where he starred as the voices of Cleveland, Rallo and many others. The Cleveland Show instantly developed a loyal following and ran for four seasons on FOX. It is now in syndication and can be seen on Hulu and is coming this fall to Comedy Central.

Mike's current projects include the recurring role of Dann, the friendly alien, on FOX's The Orville, as well as, scripting and starring in his own pilot, Home on the Strange. He recently launched Crosseyedtv.com to showcase new work and the entire Henry Brothers portfolio, including their popular internet series Kicked In the Nuts. Enjoy!
